In previous lessons, students have been working on writing some ideas or paragraphs of a short story. At this point, they will use avatars as a representation of their characters’ appearance.
Aim/Objective/Communicative purpose: Students will use the tool “Free Avatar Maker” to create avatars that represent their characters in creative writing projects and explore the role of avatars in character development.
Activity #1
Introduce the topic of creative writing and the importance of creating well-developed characters. Discuss how avatars can be used to represent characters and enhance the writing process.
Activity #2
Show the class how to use www.freeavatarmaker.com to create avatars that represent their characters. Demonstrate how to use the different features and tools on the website to create avatars that reflect character traits, appearance, and personality.
Activity #3 (application stage)
Give students time to create avatars for their characters in their creative writing projects. Encourage them to think about their character’s personality and appearance in depth, so that they can be represented on the avatar.
