Hi there! This is my personal learning environment (PLE)
I'm Sofia. I'm 27 years old and studying to become an English teacher at UTN. Currently, I'm attending 4th-year subjects. My first approach to teaching English was in 2017, when I took courses of kids and adolescents at a language school. At that time, I was studying medicine, but having the opportunity to work in education made me realize that I had my heart set on teaching, so I changed degrees and enrolled on this course of study in 2019.
During the pandemic, I began delivering online lessons to adolescents and adults. I had no idea how to use classroom. Gradually, I started to incorporate technology into my lessons. Sharing resources among colleagues and classmates was crucial to overcoming such a hard time.
Currently, I work at a bilingual school with 1st form students (yep, they're super cute and restless at the same time) and I decided not to teach online for now.
From ICT, I expect to learn how to use technology critically in the classroom, in both online and face to face lessons, and maximize its use for the benefit of students. Apart from that, I expect to discover engaging tools and websites that complement the online teaching, mostly for adults.
Many times, I have felt frustated over the fact that I have a lot of ideas in my mind but I can't find or don't know (yet) the resources or tools that are able to design what I want. Apart from that, it looks like you have been working for hours when, in fact, you haven't made much progress!
