In current reality developing countries tend to face more problems and challenges compared to already developed countries. The summary I'm writing would be based on a paper that solely focuses on the perspective of a developing country (Singapore) and the challenges it faces. It starts from construction industry development, then moves onto globalisation, culture and environment.
The development of the construction industry is there to meet demands for the civil and structural engineering products, and it's there to support the growth in the economic and social development. It improves the value of money and competitiveness in this industry.
Many developing countries have constructed a long term plan which usually includes the increase of sophisticated economy, client demands, technological and social change, client demands, and globalisation that leads to competition.
Many Construction project which are needed for their socio-economic development are usually beyond the capability of local industries to undertake, because of the size of the project so developing countries are forced- In conclusion developing countries would have to import construction activities which make globalisation inevitable
Cultural aspects have now become a very important area for business organisations especially since western countries have different history, culture, experience as a whole and technology making it valuable. The arrangements are based on this to determine documentation, procedure and practices in the industry, and specify the roles and relationships among them. Developed countries are more formal and follow a set channels of communication. Which is why the construction industry differs from every country.
Since the eighties Environment has been a major subject of research and international attention that also deeply affects the construction industry as it is believed the preserving the environment should be a bigger interest between the countries. Developing countries have fragile environments especially since they are facing deforestation at a higher rate and shortage of fresh water. Environmental problems in these countries usually exist with lack of managerial experience, financial resources, and legal and administrative systems that are necessary to deal with these problems as a whole.
In general developing countries tend to face major issues and challenges in the future that would be usually related to resource shortage and the industry. To overcome issues in developing countries people would need to grasp the importance 0f all these issues and develop the construction industry that can benefit from globalisation and enterprises which are aware of and seek to limit the negative impact on the environment by their activities which could help to achieve success on the projects developing countries are pursuing.
