WHAT ROLE DO THEY PLAY?
Snow leopards help maintain biodiversity within their ecosystem by regulating populations on the food chain. They are carnivores and eat many different animals. Snow leopards are most active at dusk and dawn. They hunt primarily large animals about every 8 to 10 days.
This cat species diet consists of many animals species. These species are mostly large but can consist of smaller ones too. Because snow leopards only hunt about every 8 to 10 days, they hunt large animals like deer and ibex. Other species may also include hares and mice.
Snow leopards can walk in snow up to 33 inches deep
