Visit the Harold Cox Nature Garden for a glimpse into Stone Mountain Park’s Natural District and the sometimes common, sometimes rare flora that inhabit the Pine-Hardwood forest, granite slopes, and sunny fields found within.

An easy walk from the parking lot, the once-prized English Garden is now transitioning back to a native wonderland where onlookers can learn about individual plant species from interpretive signage. Continuous efforts to remove non-native species like the Asian Azalea has opened up the forest and native seeds lying in wait have reclaimed space that once was their own.

Spring in the garden brings the emergence of fleetingly beautiful, forest floor flowers like the Trout Lily and Indian Pink, while the dense summer canopy offers refuge to weary hikers.
