Hello everyone! I KNOW, these rules are long, but they'll save you from having to unfollow me later! I've been roleplaying Emma for 10+ years and at this point I want very specific things. I also have a hard time saying no, so I ask you to read the rules at least once.
I bolded the important things so you can skip ahead.
My name is Ele, (35+, aro-ace, she/her), Italian, I am chronically ill and have PTSD, which is why I want this hobby to be drama-free and fun. I can disappear for weeks when I'm not well, and then come back for a year straight. Memory problems: hard block, don't soft block!
If you never initiate ic or ooc interactions, eventually I'll stop writing with you. It feels like you changed your mind about writing with me after trying and I don't want to push.
You have complete freedom about having multiple threads (which I love) or not, continuing or dropping things (I do too), prioritizing other rpers, being slow etc. Icons aren't needed.
Emma is not invincible but I ask you to respect that she's an excellent and experienced fighter: I won't write her losing against well-trained men just because they are men. The outcome should depend on how much real experience they have and what their skills are.
Emma is straight and has (lots of) casual sex but I'll fade to black unless I tell you otherwise, because my repulsion goes up and down. IF it happens, smut is tagged nsft and under read-more. If we assume they did it, know that in no way she's submissive.
Flirting on main and upping her "best friend" energy are how she keeps things 'not romantic' and free of commitment. It's hard to develop a ship with her, even if shipping is my FAVORITE thing.
I NEVER forceship nor expect anything. If we ship, you must be older than 21.
I DON'T ship her with: characters who are consistently cold or mean to her (outside joking around), or who try to 'tone her down'/show her who's the boss; with immortal characters because I don't like the tragedy of it, nor those who look a few years younger than her because she wouldn't be attracted. If he can play a high school character, he looks too young.
I’m mutuals only and selective, if you like starter calls or send memes I'll block you. I need your muses to have an about page if I don't know them, so that I can get an idea of whether I'll be comfortable roleplaying with them or not.
If you write a Doctor Who muse, take your pick of verse!!! The Doctor can be anywhere anytime, so modern Emma? Sure! Fantasy (since she had her past rewritten and it will make her go evil princess at some point)? Go for it!
If I interact with a character from this list it doesn't mean I'm now open to duplicates.
I underlined the targets like this, so skip the rest if it doesn't apply to your muse, read it if it does because there are exceptions and/or ways to get around it.
1) I don't write Emma with 'bad guys with no morals whatsoever who hunt children for fun', only with the ones open to redemption, because otherwise she would attack them. Exceptions can especially be made in apocalyptic fandoms, because this rule depends on HER PERSONALITY, not on my tastes. Like TWD Negan, who had his own redemption? Hell yes, she'd flirt her ass off. Ascended Astarion who will never have morals again? No. Your OC who is a serial killer? No.
(it can depend on how you interpret the character or for other reasons, but I want to write relationships, not one-shot threads with Emma getting tortured/killed or being ooc).
2) UNLESS WE PLOT WHY she should stay, if your character is hostile and/or wants her to go away, she will go away. Being 'good' doesn't mean having no self-respect.
3) No to horror (zombies don't count), Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Harry Potter, The Vampire Diares, real life people unless they are characters in a tvshow, deities/myths/religious figures in general, and to immortals/non-aging creatures (besides the Doctor/Jack Harkness and a few more exceptions). Some of these are triggering to me while others are uninteresting or upsetting. No to child or "bratty teen" characters who will put Emma in the position of dealing with tantrums. Anything to do with the concept of "mafia", as an italian it makes my skin crawl.
4) No to most werewolves and vampires outside of Buffyverse, Twilight and BG3, and all creatures who can magically attract my muse against their will (being dazzled is fine, 'magically unable to say no' isn't): what specifically doesn't work for me is threads centered on them being seductive, sexual, and/or tormented-but-dominant like Dracula or like alpha/betas tropes. It's not even about my repulsion, it's about how "serious" interactions are meant to be taken (can't laugh in the face of a sexy vampire) and how all replies have that undertone.
Please tag sex, especially daddy kink references, and IMAGES with gore/horror (zombies don't count). Things that make me uncomfortable are usually discussed first (example, your muse under the influence of drugs/alcohol), so I'll tell you as needed.
Also NO to bad endings (character deaths, permanent fights etc), they genuinely upset me. I'm not the 'listening to sad songs' while sad type, I'm the 'watching sitcoms until I laugh' one.
HOW I'LL TAG TRIGGERS
Written violence, bleeding etc will only be tagged when the description gets very graphic. I can tag detailed discussions about pregnancy/birth etc BUT in the 'the 100' verse she's pregnant so you should just blacklist 'v. the 100'.
Please read this entire paragraph at least once because there are plenty triggering elements in her backstory (abusive ex), unless you are confident that you can't be upset or triggered by anything I write.
-I will only tag her abuse when she describes it, not when she mentions it. I'll be abuse tw.
-her first relationship in historical and fantasy verses had plenty emotional abuse (he was "taming her" to win a bet because she dared to be tomboyish); she initiated the sexual part under the false belief that he loved her, and she feels violated, so sometimes I'll tag her venting as 'noncon tw' just to be safe, because her words can sound similar to ones of a survivor.
-In all other verses it's more complex because her ex was actually a criminal who targeted her (23 to her 16 when they met), and while he didn't pressure her for sex specifically, he didn't care about her and made her feel extremely uncomfortable so that she'd try to prove herself more, so 'll use 'noncon tw' on top of 'abuse tw' if our muses ever discuss it; she was love-bombed then broken with criticism and mockery, I won't go in great details about this either, but keep in mind that, except in the 100, he's a conman who went on to trick other women and Emma is after him.
If you want me to avoid this, it's fine but know that we can't ship: it's not her if she doesn't have to heal from her trauma, although it doesn't need to be discussed in depth. It's just that I can't skip the fact that romance makes her panic.
