It was a cold and rainy day. We had 10 golfers and no idea how the season would go. Our plans were a mess if any. We had a manifest from our Commish "Potts" and a desire to see where it went. With 30 degree temps and not near enough gear we went in to the rain and played. Scores were less then stellar. the Handicap system was an unknown but we played and finished that first round. We had a low Gross of 92 and a high of 116 and not really sure how to crown a winner until as decided week in said manifesto that the handicap would be the 2 tourney average used for the first 3. But after much debate:

We started our second round of the season in much better weather. Amazing what 2 weeks will do in Oklahoma. Everyone is feeling much better about our chances but not happy about what was to come. Handicaps were still in question and would be determined after this tournament for the first 3 rounds. Shon was ready to just give up the game again after shooting 116. But why not give it at least one more try before shit canning this experement. But the Golf Gods looked favorably on him that day and a 94 put him in the money seat.

Finally we have made a call and Handicaps are known before the round. Most people were not happy but who cares. We were back at PB for another round on the course that bares it's name. We jumped in our duck tape repaired golf carts and banged balls all around that old gem of a course. We ended in a tie and by some method that I can't remember for the life of me we got a winner.

We are finally going to a proper course. The Cherokee Hills aka Indian Hills aka Spunky Creek is a Perry Maxwell redesigned several times and now looms in the shadow of the Casino which will take you money and draws balls towards its dark heart. I don't remember the play but most of it was bad except Chuck and Joe who played proper golf and made us all look like idiots.
Winner - Joe Gilbert
FYI handicaps were now the average of the lowest 1/2 of scores we had played in the league. People were still not happy but it's a recurring theme so for the sake of time understand this issue goes on again and again. #HandiCan't

Time to play a course that rewards the right miss, has wide fairways, and doesn't require the BOMB. I would say there were great stories from this round but Potts won so it was probably a snoozer. J/K this was a big win for Potts the man who fought the man to make this happen. Congrats hope you never win again. Side note Potts moves into the Lead for the season race. Hope he can hold up to the pressure.

We have reached the last stop on the first half of our season. Weather has started turning and our games are starting to look like something the might be called GOLF. Darrell is in for his 4th round of the season and with a large handicap #HandiCan't he blows the rest of the field away a serviceable round that netted a 52.9. At this point in the we are wondering if people are really committed to this league. 1/2 are showing up and we can only hope next week brings a stronger field.

Playing the second BIG BOY course that we have on the rotation. The Boys were excited to test there medal against this course. Forest Ridge is a Wanabe Private-Public course that is built to promote a master planned community. There is little room to fling the rock out of control and we see the guys that can keep it in the short grass taking the lead.
To my recognition the sun was up and the drinks were flowing.

The great thing about leaving a major is playing a course that give you a chance. HH is that course, you could call it the RBC Heritage of the SMGL. The course has some interesting points but this was the start of the end for the old greens.
Don't remember too much more but the elder stateman of the group brought it home. Guess you can't keep a old man down.

This is the worst course on the best land in Tulsa. Just a great view of downtown with lots of elevation changes and interesting decisions to make along the way.
This is always the part of the season where Chuck seems to find the balance between Drunk and Sober that gets his swing in the groove. This week was his bright spot.

We ended the season where we started at La Fortune. The weather was 1000% better and the scores showed it. The Boys finally had broken the rust off and were playing moderatly good golf. But what we found more then just the golf was better was that friendships has formed, rivalries had emerged and a True Brotherhood is what remained. The goals of the Commish were accomplished we played, drank and got outdoors.
I would say that anyone and everyone thought this season was a success even the guy that won it.
