The ST Team has come up with a couple of new rules. These rules can be found in either the SMD House Rules file, or the Disciplines & Rituals file, on the website under House Rules.
Notes in italics aren't technically part of the house rule, and are just here for explanation.
PCs based at SMD no longer spend XP to raise their Humanity/Path rating. Morality is something that is often in flux, and spending and losing XP is not necessary, and can often hinder the RP associated with a vacillating Humanity/Path rating.
(This also means that there is no longer the XP requirement portion of our House Rule regarding Unburdening the Beastial Soul (Obeah).)
A PC may teach another PC the Advanced level of one of the cardinal 8 Disciplines (Animalism, Auspex, Celerity, Dominate, Fortitude, Obfuscate, Potence, & Presence), but there MUST be a payment of at least a Major Boon (or an equivalent payment, as approved by an ST), registered with both the Harpy AND with Storytellers before the power can be taught. The discipline being taught must be In-Clan for the teacher.
Characters from other games can only teach a character based at Vitae Aeternus (or vice versa) with the express permission of both games' Storyteller Staffs, AND the characters must both be "signed in" to Vitae Aeternus (This includes someone visiting in an email scene).
This requires a Downtime Action as normal. A google form has been created to log this teaching with the Storytellers. You can find it here.
Calling the Restless Spirit:
By enacting this ritual, you can summon up a ghost-like manifestation of a deceased individual for five minutes of conversation after succeeding on a Simple Test. Any interruption ends the conversation. You must be within 10 feet of the corpse or other significant remains. This power gives you no control over the entity, which is not required to do the summoner's bidding. No powers of any kind will affect the target of this ritual. The entity summoned by this ritual is NOT a Wraith; rather, it is a projected memory image of the target of this ritual.
(It has been run this way for years, but never written into the house rules. Taking care of that, finally.)
