Privacy by design
Smart Wake processes sleep and wake information on your Apple devices. Optional personal learning happens on your iPhone; the developer does not receive your Health history.
Effective 19 October 2026
On-device learning
Personal models and training examples remain on your iPhone.
Paired-device communication
Your iPhone and Watch exchange the information needed for alarms and analysis.
No ads or tracking SDKs
No developer login, advertising network, or third-party analytics SDK.
Effective date: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how Smart Wake handles information in its iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widgets, and complications. Smart Wake does not require a developer account or login and does not operate a developer server that receives your sleep history.
The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking SDK. Health information is not sold, rented, or used for advertising. For privacy questions, contact the Smart Wake developer at tan.lehnstreue.6s@icloud.com.
With your permission, Smart Wake reads sleep analysis and sleep stages, heart-rate samples, and, on iPhone, resting heart rate from Apple Health. These records help build a sleep heart-rate baseline, provide post-night charts, and support optional personal wake prediction.
The Watch also processes wrist movement during its wake session to look for a suitable wake opportunity. Smart Wake requests read access to Health data; it does not write, change, or delete your Apple Health records.
You can decline or revoke Health access. This limits related sensing, learning, and charts. The latest-time alarm can operate without Health data when the required Watch runtime or notification backup is correctly configured.
Optional learning uses your sleep and heart-rate history on your iPhone through Apple’s Core ML framework. Derived training examples can include sleep-stage changes, heart-rate features, sleep timing, weekday, and local time-zone information.
The derived examples, learned model, learning status, and prediction artifacts are stored on your device. Smart Wake does not upload these records to a developer training service or use them to train a shared cloud model. Learning can run manually or when iOS permits background work, usually while the iPhone is charging.
Smart Wake uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework to exchange information between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch. This includes alarm configuration, language preference, readiness and runtime status, purchase access, learning status, and derived wake predictions.
The Watch also shares recent wake-session summaries with the phone for analysis. These can include sleep stages, wake times, heart-rate baselines, and recorded heart-rate and movement samples. The personal learning model and its training examples remain on the iPhone.
Widgets and complications use shared app storage for alarm settings and readiness information. These functions do not require a developer-operated cloud account. Smart Wake does not implement its own CloudKit library or cloud sync service. Apple system transport, backups, and restore behavior are governed by your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
The apps store alarm settings, repeat days, haptic preferences, selected language, permission/readiness state, and purchase-access information locally. The Watch keeps a recent history of up to five wake-session summaries and derived sleep heart-rate baseline information; summaries are also available on the phone after synchronization.
Imported Health data and derived learning files remain available locally until replaced, erased through the learning controls, or removed with app data. There is no fixed server retention period for health records because the developer does not receive them. Data on your other paired device or in an Apple-managed backup may need to be removed separately.
Health: read access for the sleep and heart-rate features you allow.
Motion: wrist movement for the Watch’s live wake sensing.
Notifications: local Watch arming reminders and the latest-time backup; these are not marketing messages.
Background activity: Apple controls when Watch alarm runtime and iPhone background learning can run.
Smart Wake does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or GPS location access. Change permissions in the Health app and the privacy or notification settings on the relevant Apple device.
Apple handles monthly subscriptions, lifetime purchases, introductory-offer eligibility, transaction verification, and purchase restoration through StoreKit and the App Store. Smart Wake reads product identifiers, entitlement status, verification times, and applicable access-expiration dates to unlock features and share access with the paired device.
The developer does not receive your payment-card details through the app. Apple’s handling of purchase and Apple Account information is governed by its own privacy policy. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings; removing the app does not cancel a subscription.
Smart Wake does not include a third-party crash-reporting or analytics SDK. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic information under your system sharing settings and its developer services.
If you email tan.lehnstreue.6s@icloud.com, the developer receives the address you write from and the information or attachments you choose to include. This information is used to answer the request and investigate the issue, and is retained only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Do not send raw Health records, passwords, or payment details. You can request deletion of support correspondence.
Turn off personal prediction in the iPhone app’s learning settings to stop that optional learning workflow.
Choose Erase model and derived learning data to remove Smart Wake’s personal model and training examples. This does not remove the original Health records or all recent wake-session summaries. If prediction remains enabled, learning may begin again as new data becomes available.
Revoke Health or motion permissions in the relevant Apple settings to stop future access to those sources. Revocation does not automatically erase copies already derived or stored by the app.
To remove remaining local app data, delete the app and its data on both devices. Shared app-group storage, companion data, or system backups may persist depending on Apple’s behavior; manage those copies through Apple’s controls.
Manage your original sleep and heart-rate records in Apple Health. Smart Wake does not delete them.
The developer cannot retrieve or remotely erase health records stored only on your devices. For requests about information you sent by email, use the contact address above. Depending on your location, applicable privacy law may provide rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, or complaint to a supervisory authority.
Smart Wake is not directed specifically to children. The app has no advertising, behavioral tracking, or developer-operated account system. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact the developer so the request can be reviewed.

This policy may be updated when Smart Wake’s features or data handling change. The effective date above identifies this version.
