Vascular Biology and Cancer lab is interested in these five verticals:
Spatial Heterogeneity: Studying variations in cellular composition, gene expression, and signaling within tumors, which impact treatment response.
Tumor Organoids and Explant Culture: Culturing 3D tumor models (organoids) and using patient-derived explants to understand tumor behavior and drug responses.
Cancer Stem Cells and Niches: Focusing on cancer stem cells, their microenvironment, and their role in tumor initiation, progression, and therapy resistance.
Hypoxia and Tumor Microenvironment: Investigating low oxygen conditions (hypoxia) within tumors and how they affect cancer cell behavior.
Vascular Biology and Diseases: Investigating blood vessels, their function, and their role in diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, and angiogenesis.
