Police Brutality occurs when police enact excessive force, leading to harm and threatening the safety of not only the victims, but the overall community as a whole.
Gun violence is violence enacted with the use of a firearm. Most well known cases of gun violence are homicides.
Domestic violence is aggression towards a family member or a partner. This can involve both physical and emotional abuse. Some may use domestic abuse to be able to assert dominance and control over another person and would use any means necessary to get that control.
A hate crime is a crime involving violence or discrimination enacted upon bias. It’s a harmful act motivated by prejudice against people of color, LGBTQIA+, religious minorities, and others with marginalized identities.
Sexual assault is an act where someone intentionally sexually touches someone else without their consent.
Rape is labeled as an act in which someone is forced into having sexual intercourse without consent.
