The Jarvis Street Community Garden's development began in earnest when the land lease contract between the City and Borough of Sitka (the landlord) and SCGA (the tenant) was signed on May 28, 2025. Work parties and other volunteer opportunities will be scheduled throughout the rest of 2025 and into the winter of 2025 - 2026. Our goals are to install a perimeter fence, lay out as many garden plots as possible with corner stakes, and develop three 10' by 20' demonstration garden plots.
