Web code

Browser like Chrome and Safari, read text based code and follow the instructions in it to construct a web page.  The embed option lets you directly add some of that code to the page. 

Embedding code in Google Sites allows you to extend the functionality of your web pages without knowing how to code.

Copy embed code

Some sites will give you embed code to insert a bit of their site in your own.  This is how, for example you can add your Scratch project to our Google Site.


Click the embed button on the quick menu (or the Insert pane).  Click the Embed Code tab and paste in the code you copied.

Now viewers of your site will be able to play your Scratch project.

Embed links

To quickly insert a YouTube video on your page, you can simply copy its URL from the address bar and paste into the Embed dialog box.

You can add a start time it you get the URL by clicking the Share button below the video in YouTube,
