I never want financial hardship to be a barrier for attending Singing Mamas. Whatever your situation in life, motherhood can be hard, and Singing Mamas can help. Both the singing and the fellowship with other women can have huge benefits on mental health. Having attended a group regularly from when my second child was 6 weeks old, I can attest to how much difference it made to my mental health, happiness, sense of self, and relationship with my baby. I want to help provide this to any woman in my community who needs it.
There is currently a small pot of money for bursary spaces for women who:
have pregnancy/post-natal depression (or similar mental health condition)
who have escaped or are trying to escape domestic violence
are in financial hardship where the regular rate cannot be afforded
The bursary fund relies on donations and the bursary place offer may need to be withdrawn if there are not sufficient donations. Bursary spaces are initially for half a term (around 6 weeks) and are reviewed after this time.
You are welcome and we will support you in song and friendship.
Please contact me on singwithroe@gmail.com to discuss in confidence.
I would love to be able to offer a free bursary place to ANY woman who is in need. I know from my own experience how much attending a regular Singing Mamas group can have an immense positive effect on women's mental health. I rely on donations to the bursary fund in order to be able to do this. If you feel able to donate, it would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks to the kind women in my Singing Mamas groups who pay the 'Supporter' rate, and to those outside my groups who choose to help women in need in my community to access my groups.
Please get in touch if you would like to contribute to the bursary fund.
