Singing Mamas is a national network of singing groups for women with a particular focus on maternal wellbeing. You don't need to have children, or bring them with you - having women of all ages and life stages helps us create a rich and supportive community. Find out more about Singing Mamas here.
As well as my two free October sessions, I will be running two weekly Singing Mamas sessions starting after half term:
📍Thursdays 10-11.30 at Downhead Park Quaker Centre
📍Fridays 10-11.30 at Stony Stratford Methodist Church
Your first session is free: please just show up and see what Singing Mamas is all about or, if possible email me first so I know how much cake to make!
Are these times or places no good for you? The wonderful Kaley is also starting two local Singing Mamas groups: Monday mornings Wednesday afternoons. See her Facebook page here for more details.
We start with an hour of singing followed by half an hour for tea and cake. This social time is just as important as the singing because building connections and community is at the heart of what we do.
Our groups are a relaxed and supportive space for all women. You don't have to be a mum! Pregnant women, grandmothers, students, retired ladies, single women: whoever you are, you are welcome here.
This is your time: there's no such thing as being late! Move around the space as you and your little one need to: play with your child, help yourself to a drink, breastfeed, change nappies. There is a baby change in the toilets, or you can change your baby in the room while singing with us: whatever works for you. We have a mat and some toys for babies and toddlers in the middle of the circle.
No singing experience is required - all voices are welcome. There are no solos, no auditions, no performances. You don't need to worry about missing out or catching up if you miss a session - it's not a choir! All songs are taught by ear, without sheet music. The songs are for the adults (no nursery rhymes!) but the babies love the singing too, and as they grow older they tend to enjoy joining in. We sing simple, uplifting songs with a few easy harmonies, so it is a great group whether you have sung before or not.
FREE for your first session, or if you are 36+ weeks pregnant.
After your free session, please choose whichever option is right for you. The higher rate includes a donation towards the bursary fund, which gives a free space to a woman in need.
Pay as you go (£11 per session). The best option if you don't want to commit to attending regularly. You will always be welcome to drop in.
Half term block (works out at £9.50 per session)
Half term block - supporter (includes a donation to the bursary fund, works out at £11.50 per session)
FREE half term block BURSARY space (see here for details)
(prices correct as of 10th October 2026)
Since having my babies, I’ve found it so difficult to get out in the evenings to sing in a choir, so when I found out about Singing Mamas, it was something I just had to try!
Being able to sing with other Mums in harmony, with the added bonus of having my little one there playing, was just the best and such a lovely boost on a stormy Friday morning. Roe was also amazing and made me feel so relaxed.
I’d definitely recommend it to anyone on maternity leave or to stay-at-home mums!
- Mum from my Friday group -
I attended the singing mamas taster session today with Roe and really recommend it. If you're interested but a bit on the fence about singing in public, it was really relaxed and easygoing, I was running on very little sleep and couldn't work one song out and there was zero judgement from the group😂 lots of littlies and stuff to keep them occupied too and Roe also makes great cakes!

Thank you for organizing this! We had so much fun today!

It was a pleasure being there. It's lovely to be able to join a group with or without children.
