Effective Date: October 23, 2026
App Name: MirrorCast: Cast to TV & Web
Package Name: com.mirrorcast.casttotv.screenmirroring
Welcome to MirrorCast: Cast to TV & Web (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the MirrorCast: Cast to TV & Web mobile application (the “App”), how it is used, and your choices regarding your information.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
All screen mirroring frames, whiteboard drawings, and local media files (photos, videos, and audio) that you cast using the App are transmitted strictly over your local Wi-Fi network (LAN) directly between your mobile device and your receiving TV or web browser.
We do not record, store, or upload your screen capture stream to any external or cloud server.
We do not request broad storage permissions (such as READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). When you choose to cast photos, videos, or audio, the App uses the built-in Android System Photo and Document Picker, which grants temporary read access only to the specific file(s) you select.
A. Information You Provide or Select Locally
Selected Media Files: When you pick a photo, video, or audio file via the Android System Picker, the file is hosted temporarily on an embedded HTTP server running locally on your phone (e.g., http://<your-local-ip>:8080) so your Smart TV on the same Wi-Fi network can play it. Access is cleared when the session ends or the App closes.
App Preferences: Settings such as Dark/Light theme preference, stream quality profile, and floating controller toggle are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.
B. Automatically Collected Information (Third-Party Advertising SDKs)
The App integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display banner, native, and interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain device and usage data, including:
Device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / AAID)
Coarse IP address (used to estimate general/approximate location for ad relevance and fraud prevention)
Device information (device model, operating system version, screen dimensions, language)
Ad interaction data (ad views, clicks, and diagnostic performance metrics)
For more information on how Google uses data from apps that use its services, please visit:
The App requests only the minimum Android permissions required for wireless casting and screen mirroring.
Permission
Purpose

Triggered only when you tap “Start Broadcasting.” Used exclusively to capture real-time screen frames and stream them over your local Wi-Fi network to your TV browser.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE
Required to run the local HTTP streaming server on your phone’s LAN IP address, discover Smart TVs (DLNA/UPnP/SSDP) on your local Wi-Fi, and load AdMob advertisements.
NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES (with neverForLocation flag on Android 12+)
Used to discover nearby Smart TVs and wireless display receivers on your Wi-Fi network without accessing your physical GPS location.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION
Required by Android to keep screen mirroring active while you switch to other apps on your phone.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Used to display a persistent status notification with quick “Pause” and “Stop Mirroring” controls while your screen is actively broadcasting.
Information processed through the App is used solely to:
Provide real-time screen mirroring, local media casting, and whiteboard projection to your TV over local Wi-Fi.
Save your in-app preferences (such as Dark/Light theme and stream quality).
Display, measure, and improve advertisements served by Google AdMob.
Ensure app stability, security, and fraud prevention.
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
Advertising Partners (Google AdMob): As described in Section 3B, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects device identifiers and ad interaction data in accordance with Google’s privacy policies.
Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
Local Streaming Data: Screen frames and selected media URIs exist only in volatile device memory during an active casting session and are never transmitted outside your local network.
Local Preferences: You can clear your saved app preferences at any time by clearing the App’s storage in your Android system settings or uninstalling the App.
Reset or Delete Advertising ID: You can reset your Google Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time on your Android device by going to Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) and selecting “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization.”
EEA, UK, and California Users: Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to request access to, deletion of, or restriction of processing of personal data collected by third-party ad partners, and to withdraw consent for personalized advertising.
The App is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
