DocuLite (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is developed and operated as a 100% private, on-device document scanner and PDF utility. We believe that your sensitive documents, contracts, identification cards, and personal notes belong solely to you.
This Privacy Policy explains how our App handles information, your permissions, and how third-party advertising services operate within the App.
DocuLite does not operate external cloud storage, synchronization servers, or user accounts.
All camera captures, cropped images, document pages, digital signatures, and exported PDF files are saved strictly in local on-device sandbox storage.
We do not transmit, upload, inspect, or sell your documents, images, or extracted text.
Once you delete a document inside DocuLite, or if you uninstall the App, all associated local files are immediately and permanently erased from your device.
A. Scanned Documents, Images & Digital Signatures
Usage: When you scan physical documents, capture dual-sided ID cards, draw e-signatures, or import photos from your device gallery, these files are processed strictly using local Android APIs and on-device ML models.
Storage: Stored locally in private application sandboxed directories on your device. Never shared with our servers or third parties.
B. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Text Recognition
Usage: When you extract printed text from documents, text recognition runs 100% offline on your device using Google ML Kit on-device vision models.
Storage: Extracted text is stored in your local Room database on your device and can be copied or exported as .txt files by you at any time.
C. Biometric Authentication
Usage: When you enable the optional Biometric App Lock, the App uses the official Android androidx.biometric.BiometricPrompt system service (Fingerprint / Face Unlock).
Storage: DocuLite never receives, views, or stores your biometric data. The operating system verifies your identity and returns only a binary success or failure confirmation.
DocuLite is completely free to use and is supported by non-intrusive advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC).
Google AdMob may collect and process certain device information to serve ads, prevent fraud, and measure ad performance in compliance with applicable laws:
Device Identifiers: Google Advertising ID (AAID), IP address, and standard hardware identifiers.
Diagnostic & Usage Data: Ad interaction events, impression counters, app crash diagnostics, and device operating system version.
Approximate Location: Non-precise, coarse network-based location derived from IP address for regional advertising.
For more information on how Google collects and uses your data, please review:
You can manage or reset your Android Advertising ID at any time in your device settings:
Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
DocuLite requests only the minimum permissions necessary to deliver document scanning features.

Internet & Network (android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)

Full User Ownership: Because all documents and preferences are stored exclusively on your device, you have complete control over your data.
Deletion: You can delete individual documents, pages, signatures, or clear cache directly within the App.
Complete Removal: Uninstalling DocuLite immediately removes all local databases, cached images, and generated PDFs from your device.
DocuLite does not knowingly collect, store, or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The App is intended for a general audience (students, professionals, and adults) for productivity purposes. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
We take the security of your documents seriously:
AES-256 PDF Password Encryption allows you to protect exported PDF documents with strong cryptographic passwords.
Local Biometric Lock prevents unauthorized physical access to your library.
All network traffic generated by third-party advertising SDKs is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS / TLS protocols.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App following changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
