This is the band's most popular song. He is organizing back-ground dancers and is going to shoot the video in the school hall. One of his teachers is there to supervise. He invited Raphina to
be in the video but she doesn't turn up. This annoys him and he's resentfully angry that she doesn't turn up to do the video. He tries to demonstrate to the other young people how to do "fifties dancing" but begins to realize that they're not co-ordinated and is worried whether this will be as good as he'd like.
We then cut to a dream sequence where Conor tries to imagine what this video would be like in an ideal world. This tells us a lot about Conor's character and what he really wants. The hall is full of bright colours and everyone is wearing period, 1950s-style clothing. The band are wearing sharp suits and they are playing with the crowd cheering and dancing
along. It is very Americanised and pleasant. Raphina joins the dance, looking glamorous. We can tell that she is impressed from the way she looks at Conor.
Brother Baxter enters the dance as well by complete backflips. He is cheerful and willing to socialize.
It is a complete different one from the Brother Baxter whom we have encountered on before in the film. As the
song is going, Raphina's boyfriend begins to harass her. We witness Brendan riding motorbike to
the dance, looking like James Dean from "Rebel Without a Cause." He looks healthy, happy and
has shaved his hair. He defends Raphina and himself and Raphina's boyfriend and engage in a knife
fight. The fight is resolved amicably without losing
any blood.
Conor's parents enter the dance, hand in hand. They are smiling and beaming, obviously in love with one another. This is in stark contrast to their earlier bickering and fighting throughout the film.
All of the people in the hall come together for a choreographed dance routine and it's obvious that Sing Street are performing for an audience that adores them.
Conor begins to return to the reality of the daydream and we are aware that all that has happened on screen in the last few minutes is only fantasy. It tells us that Conor wishes Raphina to love him, Brother Baxter not to make so hard of him, Brendan to win and succeed and his parents to reconcile.
