The statistical inquiry cycle (PPDAC) starts with a problem. In this standard, you will be given a (real world) situation and a statistical problem to investigate related to the situation.
The investigation will require a statistical simulation to collect data needed to answer the question.
There are two swings at the local park, as well as a slide and a climbing net.
On previous days, parents have noticed that 30% of children want to use the swings, 20% want to use the slide, and 50% want to use the climbing net.
If there are six children at the park, the parents want to know how likely it is that more than two children will want to use the swings.
There are two statistical questions related to this situation. We could ask:
"What is the probability that more than 2 of the 6 children want to use the swings?"
"What is the expected number of a group of 6 children who will want to use the swings?"
