SimpleText Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what information SimpleText collects, why it collects it, how that data is used, and how you can delete it.
About SimpleText
SimpleText is a an add-on for Google Sheets that does the following:
Creates a folder in your Drive named SimpleText
Creates a file that it organizes in your SimpleText folder named SimpleText Activity & Responses
Connects to your Twilio account to send text message batches that you create
Reads and writes to your Activity & Responses sheet as you send batches and receive responses
Formats dates that are displayed in your Activity & Responses sheet according to your computer's timezone
Allows you to send emails to our developers if you have a question or comment
This add-on is tightly integrated to your Google account and the data stored in said account. When installing the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace, you will be prompted to authorize different authorization scopes to your Google account. Those authorizations will only be used to perform the service you are requesting from the add-on you have installed.
To remove the ability of the add-on to access to your Google account, you must uninstall the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. At any time, you can delete your account within the add-on which will remove all associated user data completely and irreversibly (see “User Account Deletion”).
Add-ons are created and powered by Google Apps Script, on Google servers.
Users have the option to send a free text message to themselves during account creation. By doing so, users are inherently opting in to receive that one time message.
Information gathered by SimpleText will never be sold or shared to external 3rd parties. When we need to store data outside of your Google account, we use Firebase™, a serverless database developed by Google, so your data never leaves Google servers. We only store data in Firebase™ which is absolutely needed to provide you the service offered by this add-on. Most data collected by our add-ons are directly processed within Google Apps Script and are not saved in any database.
SimpleText's use of information received, and transfer of information to any other app received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use Requirements.
User Account Deletion
SimpleText recommends that all users wishing to delete their account do so within the app first. This will remove all associated user data completely and irreversibly. The images below clearly outline the process for doing so in 2 steps.
SimpleText will only access and store data that is absolutely necessary for the add-on to run correctly. If you wish to stop using our service, and have already deleted your account within the app, simply follow the steps below to uninstall SimpleText from your Google account:
Go to the Google Workspace Marketplace Manage apps page
Next to SimpleText, click the three vertical dots menu icon
From the drop down menu, click Uninstall
Uninstalling SimpleText will interrupt all the add-on's functionality and activities on your Google account.
A small amount of information will still remain in Firebase™ to track the add-on's lifetime usage statistics. If you want to have that data deleted, please send your request to nextlevelwebapps@gmail.com and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
1. Navigate
Click the three dots in the top right corner, then choose Delete Account
2. Delete
Enter the email address associated with your account, then click Delete.
Note- This will only work for your account. No other user can delete your account.
Access Permissions
When you install SimpleText, you are asked for the following scopes (shown in the image on the left) to be authorized. Each will be explained in detail below:

SimpleText needs access to your Drive™ to create the SimpleText folder and create the SimpleText Activity & Responses sheet.
No other folders or files are accessed.
Google Sheets™ access:
SimpleText needs access to interact with your Activity & Responses spreadsheet.
No other Google Sheets™ files are accessed
Gmail™ access:

SimpleText does not access Gmail™ in any other way.
External Service access:
SimpleText connects to your Twilio account solely based upon actions that you initiate within the app, never independently of those actions.
SimpleText connects to Firebase™, a Google affiliated database, to store and retrieve information required for the add-on to run correctly.
