Dear all,
SIM@UKM under the Faculty of Medicine UKM is inviting anyone who is interested to join our ‘Paid Tutor Program (PTP)’.
This program is dedicated for those who have completed MD UKM and are still waiting for appointment into housemanship.
The main objectives for this program:
1) To provide teaching services to undergraduate students on an on-demand basis
2) To provide opportunities for graduates to improve their skills in the field of teaching and subsequently produce high quality UKM graduates
3) To provide opportunities for graduates to improve their clinical skills before working as a trainee doctor
Interested UKM graduates can apply directly to the SIM@UKM office, Level 4, Preclinical building, UKM Faculty of Medicine through 03-91458768 or 03-91458773.
Each application will be screened for their suitability. Successful applications will be called for an interview. The selection of ‘Paid Tutor’ instructors will be conducted by the SIM@UKM Program committee members based on certain criteria and the ability to teach. Letter of appointment will be issued upon a successful recruitment. Tutor appointment is for a period of at least 2 months.
Periodic monitoring of ‘Paid Tutor’ will be done by the committee members of the SIM@UKM Program to ensure that the performance of the tutor is at an optimal level and if the performance is unsatisfactory, ‘Paid Tutor’ will be replaced. Tutor performance is assessed based on attendance, teaching ability and assessment by students.
The maximum number of ‘Paid Tutors’ for each session is 2, depending on the request of undergraduate students. Each session will last for 1 hour. ‘Paid Tutor’ is required to provide teaching services for at least 8 sessions monthly. Medical Laboratory Officers and Technologists can be consulted if there are issues throughout the teaching period.
