Sim Local sells prepaid travel eSIMs — digital SIM profiles you download to a compatible, carrier-unlocked phone so you use local networks abroad instead of paying home roaming rates. The company resells plans from established local mobile operators rather than running a network of its own, and it lists those plans in two broad shapes: single-country plans and multi-country or regional plans. The voucher ESIMDISCOUNT10 takes 10% off at online checkout, and because it is a percentage rather than a fixed sum, the choice between those two shapes changes how much money the voucher actually returns to you.
The US line-up gives a sense of the spread. Plan trackers list eight single-country plans and six multi-country plans, priced roughly $4.00 to $67.00, with data allowances from 500 MB to 30 GB and validity periods starting at one day. Ten per cent of that range is about $0.40 at the bottom and about $6.70 at the top.
A regional or multi-country plan makes sense when a single trip crosses borders: one profile, one install, one validity window covering several destinations. Sim Local says it connects to trusted local networks in 150+ countries, while destination pages and the homepage reference coverage of 200+ countries or destinations and claim up to 5G speeds across 200+ destinations. Those figures are stated inconsistently across Sim Local's own material, so if a specific country on your route matters, check it appears on the regional plan's own page before you commit.
Because regional plans tend to sit higher up the price range, the 10% is worth more in cash terms on a single regional purchase than on a cheap one-country plan. The redemption sequence is the same either way, so there is no extra effort involved in taking the larger saving.
Sim Local's site invites a direct comparison: when you select a country or region in the Destinations section, you can weigh the regional plan against the separate country plans. Buying country by country can suit a trip with one long stay and one short stopover, or a route where only one destination needs a large allowance. Plan types differ too — some plans are data-only, others include calls and texts, and some include a local number. A data-only eSIM does not give you a local phone number, so if you need one, that requirement may pin you to a particular country plan regardless of price.
If you do buy more than one plan, note that four $25 plans in one basket is a $100 order and a $10 saving. Whether a single code applies across every plan in a multi-item basket is not stated; confirm the discount line on screen before paying.
Open the Destinations section or use the destination search box, and compare the regional plan against the country plans.
Run Sim Local's compatibility checker and confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked.
Choose by validity period, add to cart and continue to checkout.
Expand the discount code field — it is sometimes collapsed behind an "add a discount code" link — and type ESIMDISCOUNT10 exactly, with no spaces or lowercase.
Check a discount line appears and the total has dropped 10%, then pay.
The same field appears in the Sim Local app checkout. Only one code applies per order, so remove any other code first, and it is easier to apply a code signed in than as a guest. Applying the code in a different currency or regional store version than the one you check out in can cause failure.
The 10% is an online-checkout mechanism, not valid for in-store purchases at Sim Local's airport retail locations, of which there are more than 100. It is not necessarily combinable with other promotions, it cannot be added retroactively after payment, and a later top-up made as a separate transaction may not carry the same discount — top-ups are handled inside the app. Any per-order minimum, and the exact exclusions, should be read on the plan page and in the terms shown next to the discount field.
After payment the eSIM arrives digitally as a QR code with instructions, by email and in your account, so there is no shipping cost. Install about a day before travel, set the eSIM as the data line, turn data roaming on for that line and turn it off for your home SIM. Validity typically starts on first connection abroad, though this varies by carrier.
