The first thing that happens with ESIMDISCOUNT10 happens at checkout, not on your phone. Sim Local sells prepaid travel eSIMs — digital SIM profiles that use local networks abroad instead of home-carrier roaming — and the voucher takes 10% off the online order.
On simlocal.com, open the Destinations section or use the destination search box, pick your country or region, and compare regional plans against separate country plans. Run the compatibility checker and confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked before you spend anything. Choose a plan by validity period, add it to the cart, then continue to checkout and expand the discount code field, which is sometimes collapsed behind an "add a discount code" link. Type the code exactly, with no spaces and no lowercase, and press Apply. The same field appears in the Sim Local app checkout.
What should appear on screen within seconds is a discount line and a total that has dropped by 10%. On a $4 plan that is about $0.40; on a $20 plan about $2; on a $67 plan about $6.70. Four $25 plans in one basket makes a $100 order and a $10 saving, though whether a single code covers every plan in a multi-plan basket is something to confirm on screen. Only one code applies per order, so remove any other code first, and applying while signed in is easier than checking out as a guest. Once payment goes through, the discount cannot be added retroactively.
There is no shipping and no waiting for post. The eSIM arrives digitally as a QR code with instructions, sent by email and stored in your account. The app is described as the fastest install route, with a plan downloadable in a couple of minutes; separate quick install guides exist for iOS and Android. On iOS the path is Settings > Cellular/Mobile Service > Add eSIM, then scan the QR code.
Sim Local's guidance is to install about a day before travel rather than at the airport gate. Phones can usually hold around ten eSIM profiles, though some devices cap storage lower. Your existing number and physical SIM stay in place throughout.
When you land, set the eSIM as the data line and turn data roaming ON for that eSIM line. Sim Local also advises turning data roaming off on your home SIM at that point, so nothing leaks onto expensive roaming. Plan validity typically starts on first connection abroad, though this varies by carrier — worth checking on the plan page, because it determines whether a short plan is already ticking down before you leave home.
From here the voucher has done its job and the plan takes over. US plans range roughly $4.00 to $67.00, with data allowances from 500 MB to 30 GB and validity periods starting at one day. Sim Local promotes full-speed daily allowances rather than throttled "unlimited" data, and the homepage claims up to 5G speeds across 200-plus destinations, with connections to local networks including European operators such as Orange. Some plans are data-only; others include calls and texts, and a few include local numbers. A data-only eSIM will not give you a local phone number, so plan around that if you need one for bookings or taxis.
Top-ups are handled inside the app. The point to note is that a top-up made later, as a separate transaction, may not carry the same discount — the 10% applied to the order you placed, not to the eSIM for life. The same applies to airport retail: Sim Local operates in more than 100 airport locations, but the code is an online-checkout mechanism and is not for in-store purchases, nor is it necessarily combinable with other promotions.
For the next trip, the sequence repeats from day one: new plan, code entered again at checkout, discount line confirmed before paying. Exact exclusions and any per-order minimum are shown next to the discount field at checkout, so read that text rather than assuming the code behaves identically every time.
