A pollinator is an animal that transports pollen from the male anther of a flower to the female stigma of a flower. This helps to bring about fertilization of the ovules in the flower by the male gametes from the pollen grains. Pollinators are a key factor in the reproductive process of flowers.
Imagine a world with no chocolate almonds, fruit, coffee, or flowers and your imagining a world with no pollinators. Bee's pollinate 1/3 of crops in the world, and without them the world would go into global food shortage. Unfortunately this seems to be in our near future due to colony collapse.
