The Pollinator Project

Troop 78050's Silver Award

Welcome to Troop 78050's Silver Award Website!

The Girl Scout Silver Award is a project that encourages Girl Scouts to try and make a lasting difference in their community about something they feel passionate about. We did our Girl Scout Silver Award as 7th and 8th graders, and completed it in the summer of 2018. The main achievement of our project was the Pollinator Garden, a small garden with all native plants located in Waldo Park. As Girl Scouts, we wanted to make a change in our community surrounding pollinators, and more specifically solutions for colony collapse disorder. You may have seen our bee hotels in Magnolia park, or even met us at Town Day, where we taught kids how to make bee hotels of their own. Other things we did include running a bug badge, having a booth at LexFarm, and, of course, selling cookies.
