Workshop Guidelines

Sigma Security Group encourages its members to host and teach workshops that allow others to learn new skills for operations. It is, however, important that workshops maintain a structure that ensures community standards are upheld. This is the purpose of the Sigma Workshop Guidelines.

Certification Workshops

Instructors are to seek explicit approval from the Certification SME prior to hosting workshops. If approved, instructors can then create the event and add Approved by: [SME Name] at the end of the description.

Non-Certification Workshops

Workshops must be well documented, researched, and planned. Instructors are expected to have researched the workshop subject thoroughly, both from an IRL and in-game point-of-view. Once the research is complete, the instructor is expected to include a clear lesson plan and have learning objectives listed.

When documentation is completed, instructors must seek approval from any staff member prior to hosting the workshop. Staff will then evaluate the documentation based on the planning, realism, and suitability for Sigma. Staff will always reserve the right to reject workshop proposals for any one of those reasons.
