OVERVIEW
The YMCA program is for daughters (pre-K thru 4th Grade, w/ 5th Grade optional) and their fathers.
Our objective is to provide an environment within which daughters and their fathers can spend meaningful time together and also learn and have fun. We emphasize participation in Family, Community, Nature and Fun.
The approximately 200 members of the Sierra Expedition can participate in monthly group events. We hold our meetings and expedition events roughly from September through early June. Overviews and timing of these events can be found in the Calendar menu drop down at the top of this page.
In addition, Circles each have their own independent monthly meetings and occasional Circle activities which vary from Circle to Circle and month to month and are organized by each Circle's leadership (Navigator and Compass Bearer).
Presently, the Sierra Expedition consists of the seven Circles listed below. Circles vary in size from around 10 ~ 25 dads and daughters. If you are interested in joining, please provide basic information about you and your daughter to the Sierra Expedition contact email above so we can best match you to one of the Circles below.
Chinook Circle
El Dorado Circle
Ponderosa Circle
Shasta Circle
Tahoe Circle
Tioga Circle
Zephyr Circle
We believe in harmony and respect. In all our relationships. With our Daughters. With our Dads. With our Families. In our Communities. And everywhere we go. In Forest, Field, and Stream. We are always connected. Side by Side. Friends Forever. Pals Always.
Give to the Y
Care. Contribute. Create.
Care about the future. Help give thousands of individuals and families the opportunity to enrich their lives through Y programs and services! Without your support, many people who benefit most from our programs and services might not be able to participate. Your gift ensures the Y remains accessible to everyone — regardless of their ability to pay.
Contribute to the Y. One hundred percent of your contribution provides financial assistance and supports critical programming at the Y.
Create a stronger community. Through many opportunities for giving, children can build self-esteem and discover personal talents at the Y. Teens can connect with peers and positive adult role models while learning leadership skills. Adults can develop new friendships and feel more connected in the entire community.
