Since January 2025, I no longer associate with SM64 romhacks or anything related. This page and emu are therefore not currently maintained. ~ShiN3
Parallel Launcher comes with a few select graphics plugins, and it doesn't allow you to install your own.
Regardless, it's good to have some information about each plugin to decide which one you should pick.
It doesn't support audio or input plugins, other than allowing you to enable DirectInput if your controller doesn't work with the default settings.
You can change your graphics plugin in the first window you see when you open Parallel Launcher.
Use this plugin to play the average SM64 romhack.
Very versatile plugin with decently accurate emulation.
Works well in low-end computers.
Still may not perform as well as Rice if your computer is particularly bad.

Despite its completely different name, this plugin is known as LINK's GLideN64 in Project64.
Plugin by aglab2. Based on GLideN64 by gonetz.
Use this plugin to play modern decomp hacks (or any hacks that say they require Parallel/GLideN64 plugin).
Slightly more accurate than OGRE.
Tends to cause issues in older hacks, especially with More Objects Patch.

This plugin should work right away without any adjustments.
Plugin by gonetz.
Use this plugin if you have a potato computer and can't run the other plugins.
The only option for low-end setups in Parallel Launcher.
Very inaccurate, often described as "Jabo but worse".
Its inaccuracy causes issues with modern decomp hacks' visuals.

Plugin by Rice and mudlord.
Use this plugin to test the visuals of console compatible hacks.
If your graphics card is good enough to run it, you can also use it for the same purposes as GLideN64.
The most console accurate plugin.
Won't run if your graphics card isn't good (NVIDIA RTX or AMD Analog recommended).

Plugin by Themaister and mudlord.
Use this plugin to test the visuals of console compatible hacks if your graphics card can't run ParaLLel.
Not recommended for normal gameplay since its performance is pretty bad.
Another console accurate option.
Less hardware demanding than ParaLLel.
Bad performance since it runs entirely on your CPU.
