Cadet Command Sergeant Major, Senior
My Role: As the Command Sergeant Major (CSM), I am the senior enlisted cadet in the AJROTC battalion and the principal cadet enlisted assistant to the Battalion Commander. My core mission is to represent and look out for the entire battalion, from the newest cadets to the company commanders. I ensure their voices and concerns are heard by the command and instructor staff. My days are spent supervising our NCOs, checking that our standards of drill and ceremony are flawless, and seeing to it that the battalion's areas are neat and orderly. I embody the highest standards of discipline and appearance, and I take great pride in presiding over the Cadet of the Month boards. In short, I am responsible for the welfare, morale, and high standards of everyone in the battalion.
My Plans After High School: I plan to attend the United States Military Academy, exhibiting the highest degree of character and discipline, while working towards a nuclear or biomedical engineering degree, aiming to graduate with a commission into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant.
Cadet Battalion Commander, Senior
My Role: I lead and oversee all components of the Packer Battalion. I work closely with the Executive Officer and Command Sergeant Major, and my core duty is ensuring the complete and correct implementation of my vision for the program.
My Plan: I plan on attending the United States Coast Guard Academy to play collegiate soccer and develop into a future Coast Guard Officer.
Cadet Executive Officer, Senior
My Role: I serve as the Commander’s principal staff officer responsible for directing and supervising staff coordination and ensuring effective and prompt staff actions. I am responsible for establishing, managing, and enforcing the staff planning timeline, which conforms to the mission and is in accordance with the Commander's guidance. I monitor the staff's discipline and morale across the entire staff for planning and execution of all operations and training events. I supervise all tasks assigned to the staff and serve as the acting Commander in his absence. I help manage the Battalion.
My Plans After High School: I plan to join the Navy ROTC and major in Astronomy-Physics, with plans for a Graduate program, to pursue a career at the United States Naval Observatory.
Staff
S-1 Personnel Officer: Nathaniel LaNeave, Senior
My Role: My job is to make sure that everyone gets their hours and awards. I work on JUMS to make sure that the proper awards are signed and filed onto an award sheet, where it is given to our S4. During major events like the Cadet Ball, I am also the master of ceremonies; this role also transfers over to things like the end-of-year award ceremony.
My Plans After High School: I am planning to attend Penn State University, where I am planning to get my Master's in Biology. From there, I will pivot into medical school, hoping to become a Fleet Marine Corpsman for the U.S. Navy and Marines.
S-2 Security Officer: Alex Smith, Senior
My Role: I am responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over $42600 worth of MTOE and weapons; I instruct cadets on proper care and maintenance of all assigned small-arms; I maintain sensitive items reports for equipment issued; I perform user maintenance of small-arms; I identify failures and arrange higher-level maintenance.
My Plans After High School: I plan to attend a 4-year college, majoring in Cybersecurity
S-3 Operations and Training Officer: Andrew Ruppert, Senior
My Role: I oversee current and future operations, training, and tactical planning. I ensure that operational plans are executed effectively. I plan and coordinate all necessary tasks to enable the Battalion to operate and accomplish its mission. I handle all aspects of sustaining the unit's current operations, planning future operations, and additionally planning and executing all unit training. I keep track of the weekly training schedules.
My Plans After High School: After high school, I will be attending Liberty University, studying Worship Leadership. After my undergraduate I plan on becoming a career firefighter and worship director for a church.
S-3 Operations and Training Assistant: Leila Cameron, Junior
My Role: I conduct full-spectrum operations; I assist the Operations Officer in the planning, preparation, and execution of training; I receive and appropriately handle and distribute OPRORDs and FRAGOs; I perform duties as the Operations Officer in his absence.
My Plans After High School: I plan to attend Villanova and major in Criminal Justice; afterward, I plan to join the FBI and specialize in homicides.
S-4 Logistics and Supply Officer: Nicole Smith, Senior
My Role: I am responsible for managing and overseeing all supply, equipment, and uniform matters within the battalion. Also, to ensure all cadets have what they need and that accountability is maintained.
My Plans After High School: I plan on attending Virginia Commonwealth University to get my bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology.
S-5 Public Affairs Officer:Spencer Gambill, Senior
My Role: I promote any upcoming events the battalion is hosting, updating the community on news and achievements, and things we are working on. I run the SHS JROTC Instagram as well as updating the JROTC Packers website.
My Plans After High School: I plan to attend Richmond University to obtain a Master's in International Relations/International Government.
S-6 Communications and I.T Officer: Jayden Hedgepath, Senior
My Role: I direct all communications and am the point of contact for the issue of communications instructions and protocol during operations, as well as for communications troubleshooting and organization. I am also responsible for all electronic systems within the unit to include computers, faxes, copy machines, and phone systems.
My Plans After High School: I plan to attend Texas A&M and join the Army Corps of Cadets to develop into a future Army Officer. Upon graduation, I plan to become an Army medic.
