Conceptualizing the game
This is a light, single-player arcade game. Like regular axe throwing, it is best enjoyed with spectators and drinks.
Creating A wish list
We created a wish list for many of the things we thought about implemented into the game and the different concepts we explored in the planning phase.
Conceptualizing the Gameplay
We decided how we wanted the core gameplay to feel and play out. We ended up establishing that the player would defend themselves in a range-like setting where the encroaching mushrooms slowly take over the players defenses if the don't keep up with the infestation.
Style Exploration
We then began planning the art style we wanted to have for the game. We also began designing different mushrooms that we might want to create for the game that would fit the alien nature that we decided would be the source of the mushrooms.
Early modeling
We started making basic models for a mushroom and one of the axes the player would wield.
Programming
We assembled a basic code in Unity in order to get started in engine and setup a project to begin assembling and testing our core mechanics.
Establishing our Priority
We created a priority chart in order to better plan out what we should focus on developing and what we should set as stretch goals.
Breakup work into sprints
We broke up our goals for the project into sprints in order to better organize work and plan our time.
