Ms. Mitchell was born in Detroit, MI, and raised in Memphis, Tenn. She graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minored in Studio Art. After college, she released her first art print for "Ms. Mocha," a poem from T. C. Worthy's book Warm Vignettes.
In addition to her primary role as the Elementary Art teacher, Natavia is also a leader in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program at Akili, which focuses on antiracism and visibility for all scholars.
