There are lot's of options to read e-books and listen to audio books online.

This is your one stop shop for e-books, audio books, and other book related help for students and families.

Ebooks and Audiobooks

All students and staff now have access to the Los Angeles Public Library collection of e-books and audiobooks by using the Sora App directly through Schoology! That means thousands and thousands of titles (including many popular titles) available for students. Students can access Sora through Schoology, making it incredibly convenient and accessible!

Digital Reading Platform

EPIC! is a digital reading app that is currently free for families to use at home during regular school hours. Its built on a collection of 40,000+ popular, high-quality books and organized by interest. EPIC! also has a large selection of read-to-me books.

Getting Started

Step 1 - Log into EPIC! on your computer at https://www.getepic.com/sign-in or download the app to a device.

Step 2 - Press on 'Students and Educators' and enter your class code. If your teacher does not have a classroom code, Ms. Levy's classroom code is mnp0363. You can enter as a guest or contact Ms. Levy and she can add you to her class.

Step 3 - Explore and enjoy!

The App for Ebooks and Audio Books

Pair the Libby App with your public library card to access all of the ebooks and audiobooks our amazing public libraries have to offer digitally. And it is A LOT! The app makes borrowing and enjoying e-books and audiobooks from public libraries easier than ever.

Find and borrow a title or put it on hold with just a few taps. You might have to wait a bit for popular titles, but be patient :) You can use Libby in place of, or in addition to, the traditional OverDrive app.

Getting Started

Step 1 - Download the Libby app from your device's app store.

Step 2 - Open Libby and find the Los Angeles Public Library or Los Angeles County Library.

Step 3 - Browse the library's collection and borrow a title. When prompted, sign in with a valid library card and PIN (For LAPL use last 4 digits of your phone number. For LA County, your PIN was given with your card).

Step 4 – Enjoy! Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf.

Ebooks and Audio Books on demand

Hoopla is a digital media service that works with your library card. It allows you to borrow audiobooks, ebooks, comics (and music, TV shows, and movies) to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV! With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later.

Getting Started

Either download the Hoopla App or go to Hoopla's website.

Step 1 - Register for a free Hoopla account.

Step 2 - Enter your information.

Step 3 - Choose your library.

Step 4 - Enter you library card number.

Step 5 - Start using Hoopla digital!
