Ph.D. positions:
Thanks for your interest in the group's research activities. We invite enthusiastic people interested in plasma physics to join the group for openings for graduate students. People can check the essential eligibility criteria from the official website of IIT JAMMU. We promote people from applied sciences and applied engineering with proven interests in Physics who are also welcome to apply. The following three processes are followed to get admission to the Ph.D. program:
Direct Ph.D. admission program as offered by the institute:
IIT Jammu offers a year-round Ph.D. admission program to different science and engineering disciplines. While applications can be made anytime during the year, shortlisting of applications and the selection process is tentatively conducted twice a year. MS(R) program:
The department of Physics is offering the MS(R) program from July 2022 with different specializations. "Softly interacting matters" is one of the proposed specialties. Master in Science by Research is a three-year program with the third year wholly dedicated to research. Interested people from applied sciences and applied engineering (with proven interests in Physics) may apply for the program.

Undergraduate and postgraduate intern positions:
We welcome MS/M.Sc. Students at our laboratory carry out projects towards their course curriculum. However, the accommodation inside the campus is subject to availability.
Likewise, B.Tech. Students from IIT Jammu or other Engineering Institutes are also welcome to work with us on problems of interdisciplinary nature. Based on their interest, we provide projects in mechanical, electrical, and computer science and engineering domains.

Summer research program
Every year, IIT Jammu invites applications for the summer internship research program (RISE-UP). Our lab offers 2-3 small projects based on plasma simulation or experiments. Students with ongoing or recently completed Physics (or related) postgraduate degrees are welcome to apply through the institute website link as it appears. You are welcome to write to the PI with your interest and a brief CV in this regard.

Postdoctoral scholars: We welcome applications for postdoctoral positions funded by NPDF or other funding agencies. Currently, the group can not offer postdoctoral positions without secured funding.
