My education journey started most likely in 1990 at the age of 6 (we were not needed to start playschool just after birth). My father was the teacher of this school. The photo was clicked in 2015. During my time there was no school building. We used to sit in a small shed without any sidewalls. However, the big tree visible on the right side of the picture was there. The village was very far from any motorable road, hospitals, electricity, etc., but it was very close to nature.

PS: The current situation of the village is not bad. Now all the facilities are easily available to the village people.

My second school was in our neighbor's village. I studied in this school from 1993 to 1995.

The school was almost 6KM from our home and we used to walk from home to school every day. At that time the road of our village was not a tarmac road (pakki sadak) ; it was very difficult to walk on muddy roads especially on rainy sessions. I and my brother had to walk 4 more KMs away from the school for tuition. Hence every day we used to walk almost 20KMs. AT that time we thought of it as a part of life and never complained about it.

The school was almost 8KM from our house but after class X, I had a bicycle :). Also, the roads were started to become tarmac and auto rikshaws and buses had started their services from our village. It was the time when the village was changing. Thanks to our then PM Sree Atal Vihari Vajpayee.

The university was almost 22KM from Silchar (the district town). I and my brother rented a room at Silchar and used to communicate between Silhar and University by the University bus. Based on our school life experience it was nothing tiring for us.

I have experienced hostel life first time after joining IIT Guwahati. During my M.Tech days, I was not much involved with sports though I played football and cricket occasionally. During my Ph.D., I was fully involved with Badminton.

In 2015, after submitting my Ph.D. thesis the journey of my study completed. It was started with a village 15 KM away from any motorable road, without electricity/cars/bikes, and ended in one of the most prestigious Institutions of India.
