Challenges in Teaching and Its Solution
Challenges:
Multicultural classrooms differ from traditional ones due to language barriers. Children from different countries and city districts may speak the same language but not understand each other due to factors such as parental influence, environment, dialects, and so on. However, situations where students do not know the language of study are more common, especially when teachers speak a foreign language. When teacher speaks a different language, young people do not understand the teachers and gaining knowledge is twice harder.
Solutions:
Since teacher is a flexible person and professional, he/she must apply the translation method and use visual representations. Implementing the Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE). Providing them instructional materials in various languages while encouraging peer-tutoring and collaborative learning. Through these, students can help each other understand concepts and benefit from cooperation.
Challenges:
The challenges in Learner-centered teaching are lack of student's interest and confidence, and the class size that made students have a discomfort in learning and working with others. It was found out that students don't have enough courage to express themselves (Kumar, 2016).
Solutions:
Teachers must create a friendly learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and make mistakes . Incorporating diverse learning or instructional methods into a curriculum such as hands-on activities, multimedia resources, and interactive technologies, to cater to different learning styles and keep students engaged, and enhance collaboration yo boos their confidence. Aside from that, educational technology tools must be integrated accordingly, and implement differentiated instruction that involves varying the complexity of tasks, providing different types of resources, or offering alternative ways for students to demonstrate their understanding.
In a multigrade classroom, teachers had obstacles in curriculum preparation and delivery. It was said that parents' engagement and involvement is a challenge. Also, teachers have challenges in managing instructional materials and resources (Dulana et, al.2023).
Solutions:
In a multigrade class, teachers must initiate parent-teacher meetings regularly to discuss students' progress and concerns about students and other factors that affects teaching-learning process , and propose activities that would involve parents' engagement. In designning a curriculum, teachers must tailor lesssons and activities with various designs to cater different learning styles and skills. In management issues, teachers should keep an inventory of all materials and their condition and share materials between grades or classes to optimize their use.
The challenges of integrating ICT in education are the lack of competency of teachers and lack of technical support. It was discovered that many teachers lacked the expertise and skills to handle computers and were unenthusiastic about the developments. Teachers cannot succeed without adequate classroom technology support and school-wide tools. be expected to overcome the barriers that hinder people from using ICT . Technical problems in using ICT in class includes waiting for websites to open, failing to connect to the Internet, printers not printing, malfunctioning computers, and teachers having to work on old computers. “Technical barriers impeded the smooth delivery of the lesson or the natural flow of the classroom activity.
Solutions:
To address these challenges, incorporating trainings in teacher education programs. Educators must receive hands-on experience with educational technologies. Implementing a curricula that includes ICT integration to ensure teachers know how to use and what educational technology suits for learning. Since we are now in 21st century, schools must have an access to internet connection and technological resources and teachers must choose and implement educational tools and platforms that are intuitive and easy for teachers to use, minimizing technical barriers.
In this approach there are challenges found which are Traditional methods may not align with how the brain best processes and retains information , choosing a learning format or vehicle (in-person, online, books), and setting aside time to complete the task (learning plus implementation) (Jensen, 2008).
Solutions:
To address these challenges, teachers need to design a curriculum that emphasizes active learning, spaced repetition, and multimodal teaching which caters multiple learning styles. Make use of tailored learning programs and adaptive learning tools. Use formative evaluations to determine the needs of each student and modify teaching strategies accordingly.
Teachers in elementary schools are somewhat aware of MIT, and they believe that the MIT education they are receiving is insufficient. Teachers find it helpful, however there are a lot of issues with it after submitting an MIT application. These issues include overcrowding in the classroom, a lack of supplies, evaluation issues, and
time, and course and reference materials don't adhere to MIT (Akpinar et, al. 2010 ).
Solutions:
Teachers must use strategies such as flexible grouping where students can work in smaller groups or pairs, which can mitigate some issues caused by overcrowding. Arrange seating and resources to maximize space and facilitate movement and interaction. They should conduct regular inventory checks and plan purchases based on anticipated needs. Create a list of essential supplies and encourage to reuse materials and resources. Design a curriculum that would cater all the multiple intelligences of the students and implement a variety of assessment methods, including project-based assessments, peer reviews, and self-assessments, to capture a comprehensive picture of student learning. Teacher must regularly review and revise course materials to ensure alignment with educational standards and best practices and make sure to align course content with required standards and learning objectives.
The teacher in the classroom faces a number of difficulties.
face of inclusivity, and the arrangement of the school, given that the reality of many schools' structures public schools in particular are unstable, and the atmosphere is not inclusive, there is not enough or lack of technology resources, instructional materials, overpopulation and a shortage of areas inside for activities as well as outside the school (Neves et, al. 2022).
Solutions:
Ensure that the curriculum reflects diverse cultures, perspectives, and histories. Incorporate texts and resources that represent various groups and viewpoints. Differentiated instruction where teaching strategies accommodate different learning styles and needs, such as differentiated assignments and personalized learning plans. Teachers must form partnerships with local businesses, higher education institutions, and nonprofits to provide additional resources and support. Implement programs to teach students and educators how to effectively use technology for learning and teaching. These solutions can create a more inclusive, well-resourced, and effectively organized learning environment that supports all students and educators.
