I was recently accepted into Sheridan's Honours Bachelor's of Animation program. Since I relied heavily on online resources when I was appling, I wanted to make a site to share everything from the resources I used to the people I contacted, to hopefully make it somewhat easier for future applicants. I find tumblr a bit unorganized, so I chose to do it this way. I only got 84% and narrowly got in because the cut off was 82% for domestic students, so I'm not going to give any art advice here. But I thought I should share the information I learned regarding the ins and outs of the Sheridan portfolio. Thanks for stopping by :D
For those who just want the portfolio, click on the portfolio tab.
Otherwise, I'll blab about myself for a sec:
I got accepted first try in Grade 12. I think it was a mix of luck and pure will. I was actually kind of obsessed about getting in. I couldn't stop thinking about the school, I researched the heck out of Google for animation portfolios, I watched Sheridan students' vlogs for fun, I had this window painting of the Sheridan logo, heck, my phone wallpaper was the school! I was crazy. But hey, don't judge. I sell my soul to the devil for admission. I did art for a long time but never got really serious about animation or concept art (only did realism for the longest time because I couldn't do anything else. I cry). So when portfolio season rolled around I started as early as I can and took all the time given to make up for the missed years. Don't be me! Start animating now! I'll recommend some things you can do in the resources section.
