Hi, I am MD SHARYFUL ISLAM, I hold a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Tzu Chi University, Taiwan (2024). A passionate neuroscientist with a strong background in cardiovascular neuropharmacology and neurophysiology, focusing on the brain, spinal cord, and molecular mechanisms of the central nervous system (CNS). Skilled in in vivo and in vitro research methods for studying NMDA receptor signaling, neuropeptide modulation, oxidative stress, and ferroptosis in neuro-cardiovascular diseases. Skilled in rodent surgery, molecular biology, and cell culture techniques. Dedicated to advancing translational neuroscience and developing therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative and cardiovascular disorders.
During my PhD in Taiwan (2018-2024), I investigated the pivotal roles of amyloid-beta peptides in modulating the pharmacological mechanisms of NMDA receptors in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) of rats. Prior to that, I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy from Stamford University Bangladesh. Most recently, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, where my research focused on neuron-glia lipid metabolism, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) dysfunction, and their implications in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Currently working in the field of regenerative medicine, with a primary focus on stem cell–based therapies and platelet-rich plasma (PRP)–based regenerative approaches for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), skin rejuvenation, tissue repair, and musculoskeletal and joint-related conditions. My research focuses on the therapeutic potential of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), peripheral blood-derived stem cells (PBSCs), and stem cell–derived secretomes and extracellular vesicles (exosomes), with particular interest in their roles in hair follicle regeneration, skin repair, angiogenesis, tissue regeneration, oxidative stress, and inflammation modulation. Through translational and clinically oriented research, I aim to contribute to the development and advancement of safe, evidence-based regenerative therapies for hair restoration, skin health, tissue repair, and joint-related disorders.
