An Unexpected Trail by Nisha B Thakur is a murder mystery novel that revolves around three couples.

The story starts with Tanvi and Raj who are in a relationship and Raj has recently proposed to Tanvi.

There is another couple Neha and Adi who are married. The mystery begins after Tanvi finds a dead body in her kitchen. The police are called and they start their investigation. The two other couples, Tanvi - Raj, and Neha - Adi, become suspects as the police try to find out what happened on the night of the murder.

The language of the novel is lucid and the flow is quite entertaining for beginners as well as advanced readers alike. The plot was suspenseful, believable, and most importantly, inspirational.

The characters are very human in their qualities and faults, but that makes them easy to relate to on some level or another.

I loved the realism in this story.

The character of Raj seemed to be good in the beginning but after I saw his true colors I was appalled.

The author has done a great job of teaching us about two-faced individuals. The book has a lot of flashback scenes, as well as scene switches which can be confusing at times.

The Unexpected Trial is an amazing novel. The twists and revelations in the story are unexpected and have a deep impact on your perception of the characters. It makes you ask yourself, what would I do in this situation?

It's so hard to put this book down once you've started reading it because the author has such a talent for storytelling that it will keep you hooked until the end. This was one of my favorite reads!
