Linger when You're Gone
By Chitra Padmana
Rating : 4 stars
Linger when you're gone is a psychological thriller around a girl named Mirisha.
The beginning of the story is quite complicated. There are many characters in the story and they have not been introduced properly. The names are used directly without any background. Through the first half of the book, I found it quite difficult to keep a record of all the characters.
Many mysteries in the story have not been solved and some descriptions were too extreme.
The flow of the story keeps going back and forth repeatedly. Again there was no introduction to these characters in the flashback so it was difficult to understand.
This is not a light read, you really need to concentrate if you want to understand what is going on in this book.
The author has maintained consistency in the plot and reveals one secret at a time throughout the book. The language is very simple. However, the narrative style is complex so I would recommend this title to intermediate and advanced readers only.
The plot of the story is meticulously crafted but I feel in the end justice wasn't really served.
The story is quite interesting and a must-read for thriller lovers.
