Siobhan

I remember the day you were born. Grandpa Mike and I were teaching line dancing when we received the phone call from your dad telling us that you were “born” and he told us you were going to be named Siobhan Grace. What a beautiful name your parents gave you. Siobhan had been a favorite name of your dad’s and he saved it special for you. Grace is the name of an aunt you never met but she is very special in our family. She was the sister of Grandpa Mike’s mother "Mittie". Aunt Grace had a very close relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. She would often ask her family members when we gathered: “Where are you with Jesus?”. She wanted to make sure we knew Jesus and knew how much Jesus loves us.

Your Great Great Grandmother "Nellie Grace Redinger Scherer" also shares your middle name. She was born on Oct 5, 1893 and died in 1982. She was definitely a pioneer woman born in Missouri and travelled to California in a Model T Ford with my Grandpa John Scherer in 1916. My mom "Helen" was born in 1919. I remember the fun I had on their farm where she sold eggs, rabbits and chickens to earn money and she maintained a huge garden. She did the Bookkeeping for my grandfather's gardening business. He was the gardener to many wealthy clients in Pasadena, CA.

Here is one of my favorite pictures of my Grandparents on their wedding day, Christmas 1913. Grandma Nellie was tall - 5'10" , I never quite got as tall as her.

Grace was an artist in many ways. She loved making pottery and writing Poetry.
