BIOGRAPHY:
Shakir Saat is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering , Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). Dr Shakir Saat is now held the Director position at Centre of Academic Excellence and Scholarship, UTeM since July, 1 2022. Prior to that, he was seconded to Albukhary International University (AIU) as Professor and Director at Admission and Academic Management Department (August 2020 - November 2021). Before that he was given a responsibility to lead Faculty of Electronic and Computer Engineering, UTeM as a Dean (November 2018 - July 2021). During his tenure as a Dean, he introduced the #happyplacetorwork and #greatplacetostudy concept to lead the faculty to achieve excellence. He was also a Deputy Dean Academic (2015-2017) and Head of Industrial Electronic Department (2014-2015). He managed to lead the academic team to achieve 6 years accreditation to Bachelor of Electronic Engineering program by EAC.
On top of that, Dr Shakir Saat is also a SMC Pneumatic Certified Trainer and a Certified HRDF trainer (Human Resource Development Fund) .
Outside of his institution, He has served as external evaluator for academic promotions at one institution, external examiner for 3 PhD theses and viva and more than 10 MSc/MPhil theses and viva at various local and international institutions. He also served as FRGS (by Ministry of Higher Education). He also given responsibility by Ministry of Higher Education to be a Taskforce member of MyQUEST (2022-2023). MyQUEST is a rating system introduced by the ministry to rate the quality of colleges in Malaysia.
He obtained his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Master in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Furthermore, he obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from The University of Auckland in the field of nonlinear control theory in 2013.
His research interest is on nonlinear systems control theory and wireless power transfer technologies. He has published one book (published by Elsevier) on polynomial control systems and more than 50 journals and mostly published in the high quality journal such as The Journal of the Franklin Institute, International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, IET Control and etc. More than 30 conference papers have also been published and most of them are in the framework of nonlinear control theory and wireless power transfer technologies. He is also appointed as a reviewer for IEEE Transaction journals, The Journal of System Science, The Journal of the Franklin Institute, International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Circuit, Systems and Signal Processing and many more.
