Hi! Welcome to my introductory page, which is all about me. My name is Shae Cox. I am 24 and from Byron Bay. I moved to the Gold Coast 3 years ago to study for my Bachelor of Education to become a primary school teacher at Southern Cross University. I currently work full-time at Broadbeach State School as a teacher aide. My role there is to teach Grade 3 literacy skills and English as a second language students how to speak and comprehend English. I started my degree with a passion for maths, which I would later specialise in. However, I have had a newfound love for literacy over the past six months. I wanted to become a teacher to incorporate all the different aspects and qualities of my previous teachers that I loved and put into my pedagogy.

Describe any perceived barriers to using educational technologies as a teacher/educator.
Barriers as teachers or educators could be 1. technological difficulties inside and outside the classroom (e.g., device charge or internet access), 2. Multiple things to do and not enough time, so learning more about technology is at the bottom of the priority list, 3. No confidence in using unknown devices, apps, or programs will deter teachers from using technology.
