Even as we socially distance, there’s nothing like a video challenge that brings people together. In collaboration with youth volunteers from EYES, we’re hosting a friendly competition of #TikTokTogether where we want you to do a TikTok video with your parents and/or grandparents!
What’s a better way to connect with your loved ones than doing a challenge together, especially when you can't reach out to your grandparents physically during the circuit breaker?
From sharing a simple dance, to a good laugh, capture and share these moments with us!
EYES’ Profile: Engaging Youths, Empowering Seniors (EYES) is a befriending programme under Youth Corps Singapore where youth volunteers forge intergenerational bonds with seniors at risk of social isolation, through regular house visitations and phone calls.
Due to COVID-19, senior activity centres and nursing homes are stopping all their face-to-face befriending activities. However, through this pen pal program, youths like you can continue to engage seniors through the good old snail mail, through letters and art and craft
Bi-weekly commitment: Every other week, you will get to create your own crafts and letters based on the week’s theme to be mailed out to the seniors. Similarly, the seniors will get the opportunity to send you their letters and crafts biweekly!
Key Dates: Kickoff Briefing on 19th June 2020
Sending out of first letter by 24th June!
Volunteers will have to provide their own materials for this program (ie: envelope and stamps)
More details will be shared during the volunteer orientation!
