Senior Nursing Homes were one of the earlier clusters of COVID-19 epidemic in Singapore that has led to non-essential services such as volunteering services such as befriending to be restricted to operating remotely from home.

On top of worries about the cases of community spread within the cluster , seniors and staff at nursing homes are hit by social isolation and social recession when the country went into Circuit Breaker.

In times like this increased volunteering efforts from Singapore’s youth is even more essential to keep seniors in good social health , and provide support and care for the vulnerable populations like this during such health emergencies like this pandemic. This has led to the creation of remote volunteering campaigns based on the youths’ and nursing home staff' feedback and critical inputs gathered through ground-up dialogues, consultations and co-solutioning processes.

Overall, this overall campaign design aims to achieve increased volunteering interest from youth especially during difficult times like the pandemic, and to create a variety of remote volunteering opportunities that relies on technology, centered around needs and strengths of both seniors and youths.
