Our one and only restriction is that our members must be teens ages 12 to 18, typically from seventh grade to twelfth grade. Otherwise, Young Teen Group is open to all! As a Catholic group, we are universal and actually encourage teens of different beliefs to join to add a diverse range of thought to our discussion.
Officially become a registered member by filling out and returning our New Member Information Sheet. These are available to print on our Documents and Forms Page. Our meetings are free to attend for anyone and always will be. If you are hesitant on joining, come for a few meetings (we recommend with a friend or two) before you decide. Meetings are not mandatory for membership meaning you can miss a meeting if you can't make it, but trust us you wouldn't want to!
An active member is a registered member who attends meetings regularly, goes to YTG events outside the meeting, and reaches a considerable number of Brownies Points (BP). The "regularity", particular event attendance, and exact number of BP is defined by the leadership team in context of a recent period of time. Each individual's engagement and circumstances is taken into account when discerning the member's activeness.
The advantages of being considered an active member is given priority in high-demand and limited seating YTG events (i.e Retreats, trips, etc). Also active members are guaranteed to be eligible in taking part of YTG Member Exclusive Favorites (i.e PJ Party, Lip Sync, etc). It is way of insuring members who have committed more effort and time into YTG are fairly entitled to experience the full benefits YTG offers. This is only term used to justify the dedication of members when necessary. All members are treated equally.
If a member reaches inactive status, they will not be able to participate in certain events and activities that we hold. This takes place, usually, after missing 4 consecutive meetings without communicating with the team. Brownie Points that have been earned prior to inactivity are lost as well.
But, you can return to active status by returning to meetings and/or speaking with the leadership team about your situation.
