Volunteer Positions

Library Reception Volunteer

• The perfect starting place for our new volunteers interested in joining the Library team!

• Welcome library visitors at the front reception desk.

• Greet visitors, answer basic questions, keep visitor statistics, and assist the librarian with small tasks if needed.

• During your shift, you are welcome to read, study, and use the computer or bring your laptop.

• This position is ideal for a volunteer who has customer service experience and is comfortable with self-directed downtime.

Library Assistant Volunteer

• Once you are familiar with the Library Reception role, you may be interested in deepening your experience by joining as a Library Assistant Volunteer. 

• Welcome and assist Library visitors by answering general questions about library collections, services, and programs.

• Assist library staff with processing, acquisition, and maintenance of Library collections and shelving and filing of Library materials.

• Work alongside Library volunteers and staff.

Special Events Volunteers

• Help our team with special events at the Library such as Book Sales and Art Openings. 

• Keep an eye on our Monthly Newsletter for these opportunities. 

Craft Table and Story Time Volunteers

• Craft Table and Story Time Volunteer assignments can be found on the Youth Program Volunteer Calendar.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

• If you are not feeling well, please contact Brandy to cancel your shift. We ask everyone to exercise extra caution at this time.

• Library Volunteers should CHECK-IN at the Main Gate- Member's Entrance or Kiosk when you arrive for a shift. Your volunteer hours will be recorded automatically, so no need to check out when leaving.
