Move to a Letter
Move to a Letter: Use chalk to write letters (or numbers, or symbols from signs) on the ground. Name a letter (or number, or symbol) and invite children to pretend to fly, swim, walk, drive, etc., to it. Alternatively, allow children to try to throw the paper airplanes they made in the Science/Discovery Center to the target letter, number, or symbol.
Flight Length
Flight Length:
Write numbers on the ground or provide a very large number line. Invite children to start at zero and throw paper airplanes towards the number line and then state the number closest to where the plane lands. To add an additional challenge ask children to try to throw the paper airplanes at a target number.
