History

Glasshouse Mountains station opened in 1891 as Glass Mountains being renamed in 1914. On 28 April 1988, the line was electrified between Caboolture and Nambour.

Glasshouse Mountains was named after the group of mountains in the area which were named by Captain James Cook in 1770 as it reminded him of the glass furnaces in his home county of Yorkshire.

Platforms

Glasshouse Mountains station has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Both platforms are used for services travelling in both directions.

Access

Glasshouse Mountains station has two station entrances which are the carpark on Railway Parade and on Reed Street.

Glasshouse Mountains station does have disability access.

Bus Connections

There is a bus stop outside the station at the roundabout on the corner of Reed Street and Bruce Parade. It is served by the 649 Caboolture to Nambour railbus which supplements the train timetable.
