- **Account information**: Name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account (via email, Apple Sign In, or Google Sign In).
- **Preferences**: Personal preferences, interests, and settings you configure within the App.
- **Messages**: Conversations you have with the AI assistant within the App.
### Information Collected Automatically
- **Device information**: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- **Usage data**: How you interact with the App, including features used and session duration.
- **Location data**: Approximate or precise location (only when you grant permission) used for local recommendations and nearby suggestions.
### Information from Third-Party Services
With your explicit permission, we may access data from:
- **Apple Health**: Sleep, activity, workouts, heart rate, and other health metrics you choose to share.
- **Contacts**: Contact names to personalise your experience (e.g., social suggestions).
- **Calendar**: Calendar events to suggest free time slots and assist with scheduling.
- **Google / Apple Sign In**: Basic profile information (name, email) for authentication.
## 2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality
- Generate personalised AI-powered insights and recommendations
- Process health data to deliver health and wellness insights
- Provide location-based recommendations (venues, events, hotels, flights)
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send important service-related notifications
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the App experience
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do **not** use your data to serve advertisements.
## 3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- **Service providers**: We use trusted third-party services to operate the App, including:
- **Supabase** — for secure data storage and authentication
- **OpenAI** — for AI processing (conversation data is sent to generate responses)
- **RevenueCat** — for subscription management
- **Google Places / Ticketmaster / Amadeus** — for search queries (venue, event, hotel, and flight lookups)
- **Expo / Apple Push Notification Service** — for push notifications
These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy policies.
- **Legal requirements**: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- **Safety**: We may share information to protect the rights, safety, or property of SelfAware, our users, or the public.
## 4. Health Data
We take your health data seriously:
- Health data is only accessed with your explicit permission via Apple Health.
- Health data is used solely to provide personalised health insights within the App.
- Health data is transmitted securely and encrypted in transit.
- We do **not** sell, share, or use health data for advertising purposes.
- We do **not** share health data with third parties except as necessary to provide AI-powered insights (e.g., processing via our AI provider to generate recommendations).
- You can revoke health data access at any time through your device's Settings > Health > SelfAware.
## 5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure).
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
- We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- Despite our efforts, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
## 6. Data Retention
- We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
- Conversation history with the AI assistant is retained while your account is active and deleted upon account deletion.
## 7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- **Access**: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- **Correction**: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- **Deletion**: Request deletion of your personal data.
- **Portability**: Request your data in a portable format.
- **Withdrawal of consent**: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (this does not affect prior processing).
- **Objection**: Object to certain types of data processing.

## 8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., hotel booking sites, maps, event pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
## 10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection. Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
## 11. Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use cookies. We do not use third-party tracking or analytics SDKs for advertising purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
