Thank you...
Ashburton Hall is no doubt a wonderful venue, an historical building, set in a scenic park with a host of amenities. The cafe is attracting even more people and having an Aikido club only serves to promote the park. However, not everyone migrated from our old dojo putting immense pressure on maintaining efficiency. I am grateful for the dedicated few who turn up each week and help with the setting up, etc. Without their support, the group would have been dissolved before now. So a BIG thank you!!
The Body Harmony group is much more successful, and we now get an average between ten and twelve. However, with the summer looming, I expect numbers to drop. These sessions are open to all, but, in particular, for those who feel uncomfortable with a "martial" art. It is still a comprehensive means to maintain a healthy lifestyle and well-being, without the throws and falling. A thank you to all those who also turn up for body harmony!
Welcome to 2025*
We reopened on the 5th of January, but unfortunately, without the expected numbers. However, we have had some interest from potential members; hopefully, they will be turning up in the next couple of weeks. I would to see some of the old members return but alas, I have to accept that they have moved on. It is vital for the survival of Sesishinryu that our core numbers increase. I am grateful for those who continue to support us through regular attendance.

Congratulations and well-done Michal Keska for achieving 3Kyu
Park Sessions: Often held in the Hall (when not hired out) but if the weather is good you will find us around the front somewhere. Usually every Saturday afternoon (times can vary), so check!
ZOOM: 🙋
COVID created a culture of social distancing and media platforms such as Zoom, became a source for continuity and in some ways social engagement. Even though COVID is now a distant memory, some of these sessions are still going strong and suit people who are unable to attend regular classes. Zoom sessions focus on Body Harmony and sessions are available Tuesday and Friday morning from 10.30 to 11.30 am. The Meeting ID and password are provided on request - see "Contact" page.
An Invite...
Over the years, we have had so many individuals who have passed through Seishinryu. Most spent a considerable time but life's calling took them on a different path. Some only stayed a short time, yet admitted that Aikido had a profound effect on their life. To all those who were once part of the Seishinryu family, I cordially invite them to pop in and say "hello"! It would be nice to know where your chosen paths led. I know some have moved to other countries while a few are sadly no longer with us. However, for those who can I I sincerely hope you visit or drop us a line. Most of all I would like to see some of the old members back in the dojo to keep the legacy of Seishinryu alive.
STOP PRESS!!!! 🔴
Designer Stitches is an established T-shirt business near the Co-op in Lower Addiscombe Road. They are selling cheap T-shirts for £2 if you buy a batch - well worth it!! Just mention my name for a good deal! Many members have already taken advantage of this super deal!! I'm not sure how long it will be available!!
