Thank you...
Ashburton Hall is undoubtedly a wonderful venue — a historic building set within a scenic park and offering a host of amenities. The café continues to attract more visitors, and having an Aikido club there only helps to promote the park further.
However, not everyone made the transition from our old dojo, which has placed considerable pressure on maintaining efficiency and continuity. I am especially grateful to the dedicated few who attend each week and assist with setting up and other tasks. Without their ongoing support, the group might well have dissolved by now. So a very BIG thank you to you all!
The Body Harmony group, on the other hand, is thriving, with an average attendance of between ten and twelve participants. With summer approaching, I anticipate numbers may dip slightly. These sessions are open to everyone, but are particularly suited to those who may feel uncomfortable with a “martial” art setting. Body Harmony still offers a comprehensive approach to maintaining health and well-being — just without the throws and falls.
Thank you as well to all who regularly attend Body Harmony. I really appreciate your support.
Welcome to 2025*
We reopened on the 5th of January, but unfortunately, without the numbers we had hoped for. However, we have had some interest from potential new members, and we are hopeful they will be joining us over the next couple of weeks.
While I would very much like to see some of our former members return, I understand that many have moved on. For Sesishinryu to survive and grow, our core membership must increase.
I am sincerely grateful to those who continue to support us through their regular attendance. Your commitment truly makes a difference.

ZOOM: 🙋
COVID created a culture of social distancing, and platforms such as Zoom became an important way to maintain continuity and social connection. Although COVID is now a distant memory, many of these online sessions are still going strong and continue to suit those who are unable to attend regular in-person classes.
Our Zoom sessions focus on Body Harmony and are held on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
The Meeting ID and password are available on request — please see the “Contact” page for details.
An Invite...
Over the years, many wonderful individuals have passed through the doors of Seishinryu. Some trained with us for a long season of their lives before following new paths, while others stayed only briefly—yet shared that Aikido left a lasting and profound impact on them.
To all who were once part of the Seishinryu family, I warmly invite you to stop by and say “hello.” We would love to hear where life has taken you. Some of you have journeyed to other countries, and sadly, a few are no longer with us—but each of you remains a valued part of our history.
If you’re able, please visit or drop us a line. And to our old members especially, it would be an honor to see you back on the mat, helping us keep the spirit and legacy of Seishinryu alive.
